Stress

What is Stress?

Stress is the body’s reaction to pressure. It often builds up when demands outweigh our resources. You may feel stretched thin, overloaded, or like you are always on high alert. Stress can show up in the body as tension, headaches, or stomach problems. It can also affect your mood, leaving you irritable, anxious, or unable to focus. Over time, ongoing stress can drain your energy and make it hard to feel joy in daily life.

Associated Issues

Anxiety

Anxiety is a state of high tension, often driven by spiralling “what-if” thoughts.

Insomnia

Insomnia is ongoing difficulty with sleep, often caused by an overactive mind or disrupted sleep patterns.

Should I be Concerned?

Stress is not always harmful. In small amounts, it can help you stay sharp, meet deadlines, and rise to challenges. But when stress becomes constant or overwhelming, it can affect your health, sleep, and relationships. Many people live with high stress without realising the impact. You do not need to wait for a crisis. There are proven ways to manage stress, and I offer a calm, supportive space to help you do so.

Stress and Control

Stress often comes from feeling out of control. You may have too many demands, or feel you must meet impossible standards. When you cannot change outside pressures, you can learn to change how you respond to them. Therapy helps you explore stress triggers and rebuild a sense of control. You can learn to set boundaries, manage thoughts, and calm the body. Even small changes can make a real difference over time.

Tailored Support for Stress

I understand how stress affects people who are responsible, driven, or caring for others. You may be used to coping alone. But you do not have to. I tailor my support to help you slow down, reset, and find balance again. Together, we will work to reduce stress and restore your sense of wellbeing.
